Timeline – The Journey So Far
How it Started
We didn’t set out to build a brand. We simply followed the things we’ve always been drawn to: colour, texture, light, creativity and the way art has a quiet but powerful ability to change how a room feels, or how a moment feels. And we don’t come from the art, fashion or interiors worlds, so there were no rules to follow. Just instinct, curiosity and the belief that creative art doesn't need to remain hung on a wall, it should be touched, worn, and felt as part of everyday life.
The Moment Everything Shifted
Sally has painted since 2010, not to make a statement but because it’s how she unwinds and expresses herself. Clive has spent more than 30 years immersed in digital design, imagery and storytelling. But together, the notion that art should be set free as it has the potential to reach people in more ways than traditional formats allow, has always been there.
Everything shifted during a random conversation that raised two simple questions: What if art didn’t just hang on a wall? And what if you could live with it, use it, wear it and experience it every day in ways that feel personal and meaningful?
Building Something With Intention
Those questions didn’t go away. They became ideas, ideas became sketches, and soon we were experimenting with materials, technology and product concepts. As we tested, refined and learnt, something clearer began to emerge: we weren’t creating a side hustle. We were building something with depth, intention and ambition - a brand founded on art, not trends.
When we quietly launched on November 4th, 2025, our own painted, photographed and digitally created art formed the foundation of the Zanoogo art library. Each product in our collection is printed and hand-made to order by craftspeople here in the UK. Nothing is mass-produced. Nothing is stocked. Every piece is created with intention and respect for the art it begins with, because for us, the art is the point, and the product is simply the way it reaches you.
Where We Are Now
And this is only the beginning. Zanoogo was never meant to be limited to our own art. Our long-term vision has always been to curate a broader, more diverse art collection by welcoming other artists, each bringing their own perspective and creative voice to be translated across multiple products, including printed wall art. Always original. Always art-led. Always made with care.
Zanoogo is for anyone who loves the idea of art woven into everyday life - for people who value how character, colour and creativity can transform the objects we use and live with, woven into the fabric of everyday life – touched, worn, and felt.
Here’s how those first questions, ideas and experiments grew into the brand we’re building today:
2010
Quiet beginnings that would later shape the aesthetic at the heart of Zanoogo.
2021
Clive experiments with designs, concepts, and cheeky slogans - othing concrete yet, just a notebook full of ideas waiting for the right moment, in a market that feels saturated.
On 30 May 2021, Zanoogo is named.
2022
The creative energy shifts focus, but the idea of combining art and print quietly lingers in the background.
Late 2024
The idea of art-led, made-to-order lifestyle and homeware products begins to take shape, and suddenly the possibilities feel much larger.
Early 2025
Product options are reviewed, decisions made about fabrics, finishes, and formats, and early photography trials start to reveal how the art might translate across different pieces.
What began as an idea over coffee becomes something tangible.
Mid-2025
Artwork is curated and refined into the growing library, while the website and bespoke product customiser takes shape.
Every detail - from packaging to product copy - is shaped by the same principle: art you can live with.
November 4th, 2025
Glasses clink as the news is shared first with friends, family, and early supporters.
Every Zanoogo piece begins with original art and is handcrafted to order in the UK - every detail reflecting the journey that brought us here, and the vision that lies ahead.
